Why Equine Assisted Learning?

Horses are very sensitive animals and respond to the emotions and behaviour of the people who work with them. Activities are set up to support learners to have an experience with the horse which enables them to reflect on their interaction and how their own emotions and behaviour affected this experience. This helps them to develop self awareness and also self esteem and confidence as the ponies respond to them and work with them. The sessions aims to help the learner explore their behaviour and emotions through their work with the horses and to develop life-skills and strategies whilst having fun and learning at the same time.
